Thinking about the poem

Q1. Read the poem again, and work in pairs or group to do the following task:

i. Find the words that describe the movement and action of a tiger in the cage and in the wild. arrange them in two columns.

Ans. cage wild

Stalks lurk

The few steps slid

Stalking snarling

Ignoring terrorizing

Hearing staring

ii. Find the words that describe the two places, and them into two-column.

Ans. Places in cage Places in the wild

pads of Velvet quiet Sliding through long grass

Concrete cell Water holes

bars in cages Jungle and houses

Q2. Notice the use of a word repeated in lines such as these:

i. On pads of Velvet quiet.

   In his quiet rage

Ans. Hear the word quiet in the first line shows that it has not been touched. it is peaceful.

in the second line, quotes show that the tiger is angry but in an extreme sense. it expresses the intensity of action.

ii. And stairs with his brilliant Eyes

at the brilliant stars.

What do you think is the effect of This repetition.

Ans. on one side there is anger in the eyes of Tiger but on the other, it shows the brightness of stars.

this type of repetition creates and effect of intensity, impact, and image on the readers.

Q3. Read the following two poems, one about the tiger and the other about a panther. then discuss:

1. Are zoos necessary for the protection of conservation of some species of animals?

2. are useful to educate the public? is there an alternative to the zoo?

Ans. Zoos for animals

we all know the importance of freedom. in the same way animal, birds, beast, and other natural entities like to live in their natural habitats. there they are free to move and act. when any species of an animal is put behind the bars, it loses its freedom. it is freer to enjoy life. it is not at his will to proceed. all these actions and activities become controlled in a Cell or a cage, do every effort is made by the keepers to provide them request ID relief as well as the appropriate surrounding but it can never happen. for example, a tiger likes to kill his Prey itself. it doesn't not like the flash of an animal killed by others. by keeping in a cage, there is no more movement for its body that it enjoys in the jungle. it and counter the Jungle give it more fascination and interest but in captivity, all such things come to a standstill. all its freedom, actions, natural happenings are spoiled by the keepers.

It is true that their protection or keeping them in a zoo is a must. it provides handsome knowledge to the public because one cannot go in the Jungle for fear of being killed. further, we know that in a free atmosphere one attends the plum personality very soon but life in prison is nothing but a living hell.
